CEO, Aboriginal Hostels Limited

Shane Hamilton is a proud Wakka Wakka/ Bundjalung man, nationally respected Aboriginal Leader, Executive, and Board director with more than two decades of experience across housing, homelessness, justice, health and economic development systems. He has held senior leadership and governance roles in some of Australia’s largest and most complex human services organisations, working at the intersection of policy reform, service delivery, and Aboriginal led solutions.

Shane is deeply committed to addressing structural inequity facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly in relation to homelessness, displacement, and access to culturally safe accommodation and support. His work is grounded in truth – telling, self-determination, and practical reform, translating community aspirations into sustainable systems change.

A trusted advisor to boards, governments, and communities, Shane brings a systems level lens, lived experience, and strong belief that ending homelessness requires courage, partnership, and Aboriginal leadership at the centre.
