Shai Mikus is a passionate advocate working at the intersection of policy, practice, and lived experience in the youth homelessness sector. In her current role at Yfoundations, the peak body for youth homelessness in NSW, she works across systemic reform and strategic communications to address the structural drivers of housing instability for young people.
Shai brings a rare and powerful combination of lived experience, over a decade of frontline practice across mental health, trauma-informed care and crisis accommodation, and policy expertise. Known for her ability to bridge the gap between policy and the human reality of homelessness, she is committed to ensuring the voices of young people remain central to leadership and decision-making. Her work is driven by a genuine passion for social justice and meaningful, lasting change.
