Michael Carmody is General Manager of the Centre for Evidence and Insights at Mission Australia, where he leads the organisation’s evidence, research, analytics and impact functions. His work focuses on helping organisations use data, research and evaluation to make better decisions, improve services and strengthen outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage.
Across almost two decades in government, the not-for-profit sector, consulting and international development, Michael has worked on issues spanning child protection, disability, housing and homelessness. He has a particular interest in how evidence can influence policy and practice, and in translating complex analysis into practical insights for decision-makers.
Michael holds a Master of Philosophy in Mathematics from the Australian National University and a Master of Economics from the University of Melbourne.
