Karen manages the Boarding House Outreach Service and homeless assertive outreach programs at Newtown Neighbourhood Centre in Sydney's Inner West. With a background in allied health, she is passionate about outreach models that bring services to people, reducing the barriers to accessing health, housing and social support. Karen is a fierce advocate for improved conditions and protections for boarding house residents and understands that safe and appropriate housing is a key social determinant of health. She champions cross sector collaboration to address complex social issues such as housing and health inequities.
