Karen Hodgskiss is an experienced Operations Manager and has worked in Homelessness and disaster responses for a number of years at Homes Victoria. With a diverse background in healthcare, research, leadership, and operations management, she combines empathy and expertise in her work to ensure client centred outcomes. Karen began her career as a frontline nurse in emergency care, where she witnessed the impact of homelessness firsthand, sparking her passion to make homelessness rare and non reoccurring.

In 2015, Karen earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine, delving into trauma research and understanding healthcare systems. She joined the Department of Health in 2020, contributing to the Victorian Government’s COVID-19 response for vulnerable communities. As an adept operations manager, Karen excels in strategic planning, resource allocation, and team leadership, effectively advancing Housing First initiatives. Her commitment to service delivery and advocacy in the homelessness field drives her ongoing efforts to support and uplift those in need.
