Gemma Hansen works with Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation, supporting Yolŋu Elders and Leaders to strengthen community led services across North East Arnhem Land. With a team of Yolngu Elders and emerging Leaders, she established and manages the Gatjpu’yun Hub in Nhulunbuy.  Gatjpu'yun Hub is a culturally grounded service centre offering, homeless supports, financial counselling, financial literacy education, and outreach to Laynhapuy’s remote homelands. Gemma’s work is Yolgnu led, and aims to reduce financial stress, improve access to support, and champions families to make informed decisions that align with Yolŋu values and priorities. Her approach is collaborative, respectful and community driven, reflecting her commitment to empowering Yolŋu people through practical, place based solutions.
