Professor Chris Leishman is a housing economist, and one of Australia’s leading housing researchers. He is best known for his work on modelling housing supply and housing need in Australia and the UK and works extensively with government at national, state and local levels. He focuses on research projects that make a difference to people either directly, or through influencing policy change. During his time in the UK he worked on large scale survey datasets measuring poverty, social exclusion and marginalisation. He has recently been exploring experimental methods for improving homelessness estimation and projections in Australia.
