Executive Manager, Community Services, Ngwala Willumbong

Amber is a proud Māori woman from Aotearoa New Zealand, with more than 15 years’ experience across indigenous community services, policy, project management and sector development. With a background in Bi-Cultural Social Services and Social Anthropology, her experience spans community-led service delivery, policy development and implementation, strategic projects, and systems and sector reform. Amber’s work is grounded in advancing community-led approaches that strengthen self-determination, cultural safety and meaningful outcomes for whānau and communities, with a strong focus on ensuring success is defined by the aspirations, experiences and wellbeing of our people — not simply by systems, outputs or traditional measures of performance.
