Research & Academic Abstracts

Now accepting abstracts - closing 11 February 2026

This year, the Australian Homelessness Conference will include a dedicated research and academic abstract stream, allowing academics and researchers to present at the conference and hear from their peers working on homelessness research at universities and other research institutions across the country or internationally.

The focus of the research and academic stream is Homelessness: disrupting the narrative

We welcome abstracts on theory, methods, and critical perspectives. We also welcome submissions from university-based researchers as well as people who are working in the field.

Please note that there are a limited number of slots available in the research stream, and the selection committee will ensure a balance of gender, early career / mature researchers.

Please read through the Submission Guidelines before you submit an abstract as well as the Terms and Conditions. Submssions close Wednesday 11 February 2026.

You are also encouraged, where appropriate and applicable, to include people with lived experience as presenters.  If you intend to include someone with lived experience as part of the presentation, please indicate that in your abstract submission.
