Naomi Spooner

Community Development Coordinator, Community Services, Sport & Recreation, City of Moreton Bay

Naomi Spooner has dedicated 20 years to youth and community development, all within the vibrant Moreton Bay region in South East Queensland. Her experience spans various roles within both community organisations and local government, affording her a deep connection to and understanding of local communities.
Naomi is the driving force behind community development at City of Moreton Bay, constantly pushing boundaries and seeking to redefine and create space for community development and underrepresented communities within the local government context. This includes upholding the rights and dignity of people experiencing homelessness (PEH) in shaping local legislation, social policy, and programs. A key achievement is successfully advocating for the exclusion of PEH from illegal camping restrictions in Local Laws.
