Director, Two Things

Jo is a distinguished leader in social policy, urban health, and strategic planning, recognised for her exceptional ability to foster collaboration and drive transformative change. With over 20 years of experience in social planning and policy, including her tenure as the former Director of Housing Strategy with the NSW Government, Jo possesses a profound understanding of the housing system's pressures and is adept at delivering innovative low-cost housing solutions tailored to diverse populations. Jo is currently the Senior Executive Policy and Advocacy with the Planning Institute of Australia and a Mentor with the Australasian Housing Institute, contributing her expertise to guide and inspire the next generation of housing professionals.
Her work includes providing facilitation support and strategic advice on policy design related to home energy rating disclosure as well as affordable housing strategies, development assessment processes, health and housing service delivery, serving as a practitioner investigator with the University of Sydney on the impact of climate change on mental health in relation to housing and the built environment, and conducting research to develop new, innovative housing models that ensure safe and affordable housing for women.
