Linda Page

Team Leader, Community Development, City of Launceston

Linda Page is the team leader for community development at the City of Launceston (Lutruwita, Tasmania).

Since joining the City of Launceston in 2023, Linda has worked with (former) colleague Nindarra Wheatley to develop a dignity-first, people-centred approach to the Council's response to homelessness and the intersectional inequities experienced by our community members.

Launceston's regional and rural place context offers both opportunity, and necessitates meaningful collaboration with people with lived-experience and sectoral expertise, not-for profit organisations, government agencies, the education and health sectors and passionate community individuals and groups to achieve collective action.

Linda is passionate about culturally responsive, regional and rural community participation, knowledge sharing and community-led capacity building. Over the last two decades she has worked with communities in rural, urban and nomadic contexts in Tasmania and Australia, and on development programs in the United Kingdom, Mongolia, Italy, South East Asia and Morocco internationally.

Linda has qualifications in community and international development, education, culture and the arts, and is a sessional teaching and research academic with the College of Arts, Law and Education at the University of Tasmania.
